Dear NC Community Gardeners, Advocates and Leader(s),
Are you part of a group of people that garden together (whether it be in your neighborhood, at your school, worksite, church, housing complex, or any other place) or do you know of a group that does?
If so, we would love for you to tell us about it by completing a short 5 minute survey.
The ideal person to complete this survey is the Community Garden Leader(s) but anyone can complete it.
Please click on the following weblink and complete the survey online.
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=oeUDmNWhGtojfbBnPpYN1A_3d_3d
If you work with a group that does not have email access or it would be easier for them to complete a hard copy of the survey, attached is a pdf version of the survey. Directions for where to return it can be found on page 1 of the survey.
Even if you aren’t personally involved in gardening, please forward this email to others who are involved in any way with community gardening efforts and ask them to fill it out it.
We hope everyone will complete this survey by April 3, 2009. Results will be posted on the NC Community Garden website below and will be shared at the Farm to Fork Summit in May.
<>Who wants this information and what will it be used for?
The NC Community Garden Partners is made up of people from community and faith-based organizations, universities, public health and others who are interested in creating a strategic plan and statewide organization for community gardens.
This survey is the first action step that the Partners are taking in that effort and results from it will help us to know about and promote the community gardens in NC through the NC Community Garden website http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/depts/hort/garden/CommunityGarden/
Currently only 25 gardens are listed on the site and we know there are more wonderful gardens out there.
If you want to learn more about the NC Community Garden Partners and get involved, visit the NC Garden website and/or join the Community Garden listserve http://lists.ncsu.edu/cgi-bin/mj_wwwusr?user=&passw=&func=lists-long-full&extra=nc-community-garden
If you have questions about the survey please feel free to contact Diane Beth (Diane.Beth@ncmail.net) or Lucy Bradley (Lucy_Bradley@ncsu.edu)
